The objective of this mission was to conduct a non-invasive technical audit of a roof-mounted photovoltaic system using the Matrice 4T. The inspection focused on identifying structural and electrical anomalies that could compromise the system’s efficiency and operational safety.
Technical Execution and Findings:
• Sensor Integration: Utilizing simultaneous RGB and radiometric infrared (IR) capture, a full thermal map of the western roof slope was generated.
• Anomaly Identification: The radiometric data revealed a significant thermal anomaly (Hot Spot) on a single module located on the western side.
• Structural Correlation: Subsequent high-resolution visual analysis confirmed that the localized overheating was caused by micro-cracks in the silicon cell structure.
• Data Accuracy: Precise temperature measurements allowed for the differentiation between actual hardware failure and false positives caused by surface emissivity or environmental reflections.
Results:
The inspection provided the client with a detailed diagnostic report, enabling the targeted replacement of the damaged component. This preventative action restored the nominal power output of the string and eliminated the risk of thermal runaway.
